Parenthood and professional development don’t have to be mutually exclusive.
Mixing Babies And Business™ is actively producing professional development opportunities and digital resources focused on inclusion and belonging for parents of pre-school and school age children.
This social impact movement is aligned with the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 5 Gender Equality and 8 Decent Work and Economic Growth, and includes:
- a podcast featuring parents who are also business and community leaders;
- public speaking engagements highlighting parent-friendly business practices and corporate culture initiatives;
- community meetups and parent-friendly professional development events in entrepreneurship incubators and business spaces; and
- advocating for flexible and affordable childcare, fair pay and flexible work opportunities for primary caregivers.
Mixing Babies And Business Since 2016:
As the Founder of Mixing Babies And Business™, I’ve been bringing my kids into business settings since becoming a parent as a remote worker and freelancer, while living overseas without a support network nearby.
I experienced a lack of flexible and inclusive corporate spaces and entrepreneurship programming for primary caregivers and instead of staying frustrated by it, I decided to create my own events, resources and programming for parents like me.
Since 2018, parents have been attending my networking events, reading the newsletters, downloading digital resources and showing up as they are, because they believe the future of work includes making space for them, alongside their families.
